Darcy and I started off obedience training from Puppy
Pre-School at a different club, and I remember finishing a
class having struggled with the whole concept of stand when
Darcy was about 6 months old. We walked past a more advanced
class and remember seeing the higher level dogs working and
thinking “wow – we’ll never get to that level!”
12 months later, with a bit of work and
consistency, we’ve got to there and beyond! Darcy got her
CCD obedience title at 16 months and we’re working towards
entering Novice Obedience at the end of the year.
However, our real passion is agility – we started in the
foundation class at WDTS and have progressed through to the
advanced class when Darcy was old enough. She’s very easy to
train as she’s so motivated, but because Darcy is so
incredibly quick she’s not always the easiest dog to handle.
Lucky for me she forgives my handling mistakes and she’s
taught me a lot about handling a quick dog on an agility
course!
Darcy and I made our Agility Trial debut in Novice Jumping
back in mid-June and we achieved our third pass in Novice
Jumping at Croydon at the start of September, giving Darcy
her Novice Jumping (JD) title.
