Well done Yarra

Dual CH (T) Schipwreck Yarra AD JD SD SPD has now officially retired from trialling, Yarra achieved his Strategic Pairs Title (with CH (T) Wailwilta Woodstock ADM JDM SD SPD TDX - Papillion) and his Snooker Title at the Knox Obedience Dog Club Agility/Jumping/Games trials in Melbourne recently.

Yarra is 10 1/2 years old and will now enjoy his retirement after representing the Warrnambool Dog Training School, promoting the Schipperke breed, and achieving a number of first titles for Schipperkes in Victoria and Australia.

Yarra's tiles are: Conformation, Tracking Champion, Agility Novice, Jumping Novice, Snooker Dog, Strategic Pairs Dog.

What a dog, what a Champion!

Necia Lynch

Abbie and Bob - Congratulations

Abbie and Bob along with their owners Jan Linford and Lyn McDonald headed to Geelong for the Obedience trials held on 26 & 27 July. Abbie and Jan were after their 3rd pass in CCD while Bob and Lyn were still chasing that elusive 1st pass in CCD. What a weekend it turned out to be!!

Abbie started the ball rolling, achieving her 3rd pass and title on Saturday morning while Bob had several of his "moments", although he did score a 20 on his recall!! Saturday afternoon and Bob scored his 1st pass with not one of those "moments" to be seen. Abbie scored another pass and a 4th in the ring with Bob close by in 5th.

But the best was yet to come...Sunday morning and Bob was totally focused. His achieved his 2nd pass along with a 1st in the ring. The phones ran hot! While Abbie and Jan headed for home, Bob and Lyn headed into the ring for the final time for the weekend. Another pass and another 5th in the ring. 2 titles and a 1st place - not a bad weekend's work - well done everyone.

A WDTS trifecta - Congratulations Necia, Jess & Jordan

The Northern Obedience Club held their Agility, Jumping & Games Trial at Moonee Ponds on the 15th July, and a group of dedicated (slightly mad?) triallers (John Fulton, Jess Harmsworth, Necia Lynch and Jordan Vallance along with Gemma, Darcy, Yarra and Gypsy) beat the sun up by several hours and made the trip to Melbourne to compete.

First up was Novice Jumping AM  – was a pretty good course, quite quick with two tunnel discriminations, a pinwheel and the dreaded chute! Necia was first up, did a wonderful job and scored a pass and their Novice Jumping Title.

Two titles in two weekends – well done Necia and Yarra, now with AD & JD.

Jordan also did a great job, she and Gypsy beating the bogeyman that is the chute and came home with her second Novice Jumping pass. Darcy and Jess were the last of the WDTS members to run the course and gained their first Novice Jumping Pass in a very fast time. End results were 1st Darcy & Jess, 2nd Jordan & Gypsy and Necia & Yarra 3rd – a Warrnambool trifecta!!

John and Gemma scored a great pass in Novice Gamblers, with the judge jokingly “banning” the pair from the ring because he had to run too fast to keep up with them! Both handler and judge were struggling for breath at the end.

The PM Novice Jumping trial was quite a test with only two dogs picked up passes on this course. Darcy and Jess picked up their second Novice Jumping pass of the day, and another 1st place.

Last course for the day was Novice Snooker, with Necia and Yarra adding another pass to their list of achievements.

Congratulations and well done everyone.

Thank You

To all club members and other helpers for your help and assistance during the running of our recent Obedience, Agility and Jumping trials. The weekend ran smoothly and successfully, and much of this is due to the help and support of our members for the weekend and the weeks leading up top the trial. WDTS has a reputation for running a great trial and all reports have confirmed this once again.

Many thanks to our wonderful sponsors for their generosity in supporting our trials.
